Effective 11/8/21, Police Officer Candidates attending indoor in-person tests will need to provide proof of Vaccination. 

Types of Acceptable Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination

  • CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card (White Card) - front and back
  • California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Digital Vaccination Record

People who were vaccinated in California can get a free digital COVID-19 Vaccination Record at 

Vaccination Mandate within City facilities.  Patrons entering a City facility must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test within 72 hours.

Come early and after checking-in you can attend a PHS Q&A, Benefits Q&A, and use the Force Option Simulator before the event begins.

8:30am:   Seminar Start

8:30am – 9:30am:   Affinity Leaders Panel Discussion with all candidates                     

10:00am – 12:00pm:   Take the MC Test

Please bring water and snacks to stay ready for the PFQ.
12:00pm – PFQ

Our Multiple Choice Test will be offered on-site! Free Parking available on-site. Please bring a mask.

MC Test is available online & in person


Before you can be scheduled for the on-line test, you must complete both of the following steps. After you have completed these two steps, you will receive a unique test code for the online Multiple-Choice Test within one week.

  1. Complete a Police Officer application on, if you have not done so already.

  2. Create a profile and submit an application on the Personnel Website by clicking the “Apply” icon at the following link: Please note that this is a second application that must completed to enable on-line testing. The remaining test parts in the Police Officer selection process will be scheduled and/or administered on the website.

LAPD candidates are required to wear Business Attire during all test parts and meetings with Recruitment and Employment Division unless otherwise instructed.

PFQ is back! 

Please note that PFQ's are by appointment only.

The Physical Fitness Qualifier (PFQ) takes place during the first 7 calendar days of each month. Please self-schedule on your myPD candidate portal or contact a Recruitment Officer at 213-473-3450 for scheduling assistance.  Candidate Advancement Program registration is unavailable during the first 7 calendar days of each month, as it is reserved for PFQ appointments.  Candidates are encouraged to take the PFQ every month to see improvement and work on building a better score.
