INSTRUCTIONS FOR TAKING THE TEST ONLINE

Before you can be scheduled for the on-line test, you must complete both of the following steps. After you have completed these two steps, you will receive a unique test code for the online Multiple-Choice Test within one week.

  • Complete a Police Officer application, if you have not done so already.

  • Create a profile and submit an application on the Personnel Website by clicking the “Apply” icon below.

  • Please note that this is a second application that must be completed to enable on-line testing. The remaining test parts in the Police Officer selection process will be scheduled and/or administered on the mypd.joinLAPD.com website.

LAPD candidates are required to wear Business Attire during all test parts and meetings with Recruitment and Employment Division unless otherwise instructed.

PFQ (Physical Fitness Qualifier)

Please note that PFQs are by appointment only.

The Physical Fitness Qualifier (PFQ) takes place during the first 7 calendar days of each month. Please self-schedule on your myPD candidate portal or contact a Recruitment Officer at 213-473-3450 for scheduling assistance.  Candidate Advancement Program registration is unavailable during the first 7 calendar days of each month, as it is reserved for PFQ appointments.  Candidates are encouraged to take the PFQ every month to see improvement and work on building a better score.

CAP (Candidate Advancement Program)

In order to receive credit for attending CAP, candidates are required to register on the myPD portal, link below.
Candidates need to schedule CAP attendance via their portal under CAP calendar:

Fit4Hire Program!

This program is for ALL candidates who are deferred in medical for BMI and weight loss or are struggling with basic workouts.

  • Fit4Hire is a workout program that focuses on training circuits
  • Performed in 20-minute intervals and HIT (High Intensity Training) based
  • Focuses on improving BMI and weight loss
  • Get to know the LAPD officers who conduct the program and who will provide information, support, and encouragement.
  • Network with other candidates who will have helpful information and who will provide the support and encouragement to achieve things you may not have considered possible.

Fit4Hire Program is Tuesdays & Thursdays 6-9PM*
